The Do’s and Don’t s of Using a Phone Repair Provider

There are many things to take into consideration when looking for a reputable phone repair provider. Whether you’re looking to use a mail-in provider or a business with a physical address, there are some things you should consider before signing your device over to just any company.

Do Your Homework Beforehand

Before you commit to having your phone repaired, you should use the internet to your advantage and check out the company’s social media pages, as well as their online presence. If they don’t have a phone number or address listed, you may want to steer clear. It’s important to communicate with the company by phone or email before deciding to go with them, and if they don’t have contact information listed, you should probably look elsewhere.

If the company has no reviews or ratings, it could mean that they are new and haven’t received a lot of business yet, or it could be a bad thing. However, people usually leave negative reviews if they are not satisfied with a service but don’t always do the same when they have a positive experience, so zero reviews aren’t always a bad thing. In this case, you will want to contact the company directly and ask them as many questions as possible.

Don’t Commit Without a Warranty

Phone being repairedThere are some things you will want to find out before committing to just any repair service, such as their warranty policy. You will also want to find out if they foot the bill if your device happens to be broken during repair. Many companies will replace the phone if it breaks during repair, but others won’t. Either way, it’s something you will want to know about before you commit.

Do Compare Prices

While cheaper isn’t always better in the case of mobile phones, you will want to make sure that the price is worth the services you will be receiving. If you’re going with a company that has poor reviews, very little benefits, and is the most expensive – it’s probably not the wisest decision. However, if the company offers reasonable pricing (compared to the cost of the device itself), has great reviews, and offers warranty options, they’re probably a company worth looking into further.

Don’t Settle for the First Company You Find

before and After Cell phone repairNobody likes being without a phone, but there’s no sense in getting it fixed until you know that you’ll be satisfied with the results. If the phone breaks during repair and the company refuses to pay for the bill to fix it, then you might be out of a phone for longer than you expected.

Three weeks ago I needed my phone repaired while on holiday. When my phone broke I was devastated. It was like being stranded on am island with no way to reach a rescue party. I was about to walk into the first place I could find when I realized it would be much safer to first look around at some reviews before deciding. I looked at 4 different companies and ended up going with what I think was the best phone repair shop Gosford had to offer, Central Coast Phone Repair. The result was a quick turn around time and a great price. The winning act, a free phone while mine was being replaced. Now that is great service and worth shopping around for.

Do Weigh the Pros and Cons of Fixing the Phone or Replacing It

In the case that your phone screen is broken or scratched, got wet, or the battery isn’t working, repairing the phone is probably worth the price. Weigh the cost of buying a new cell phone against the cost of getting the phone fixed, and decide if phone repair is the best option for you.
