These mattress protectors, made by Bumwear, are great for toilet training toddlers, protecting bedding during tummy bugs, and on Mum's bed as extra protection from leaks when feeding babies in bed.

Measures approximately 67 x 96cm. The top layer is 100% cotton flannelette, so they're comfortable for a child to sleep on over their bedsheet. There are absorbent layers in the centre, then a waterproof barrier on the bottom. Unlike PVC plastic mattress protectors, this one can be tumble dried without destroying the waterproofing.

These side-snapping pocket nappies from Bumwear will fit newborns until 8-9kg. Each nappy comes with a microfibre insert. If you're lucky enough to have a heavy sleeper, there is plenty of room to add more absorbent inserts (I've even used a tea towel!) to get through the night.

These waterproof covers fit over a nappy that needs a separate cover (eg Mandy Mac, terry squares, or prefolds). They have a gusset to help prevent leg-hole leaks, and velcro closure. Because they are made from polyurethane laminate (PUL), they are more breathable than PVC and will survive a trip to the tumble dryer - but they will line dry in minutes on a sunny day. An economical and longer-lasting alternative to sweaty plastic pants.
